What makes it fair?
Started by a Peruvian husband and wife Javier and Elsa, and later joined by their two children Javier Jr and Mariana, this business is providing more than good paying jobs to hundreds of rural and urban Peruvians. Their business model is unique and inspirational. They grow their own organic cotton (the father and son Javiers are heading this up). Then they provide training and operational support to small worker-owned cooperatives around the country (Elsa and Mariana coordinate this). Quality assurance is taught to the owners of the cooperatives and double checked at their central office in Lima.
The
Fair Indigo Foundation also works with the company's charitable arm by donating breakfasts and school supplies to children of the workers. We truly believe product made by this team is among the most ethical on the planet.
