The co-op structure at the facility that makes our recycled fleece insures that workers make all decisions regarding their company; how to distribute profits, what equipment to invest in, even the hours they work. One of the sewers, Ines, told us that when she started working here four years ago, they were struggling to survive. But after gaining work through Fair Indigo and a few others, they just earned a 3-month bonus. We are happy to go against the grain by making fleece at a cooperative in Costa Rica and look forward to helping generate many more bonuses to come.
