We haven't found many fair trade dress shirts out there. Even though this 80s 2-ply Peruvian pima cotton shirt easily dresses up, you can wear it without a tie and not look like something is missing. That's because the collar lies nicely, without winging out or curling. We used pure pima cotton because it makes a noticeable difference in the softness and hand.
The fabric used on this shirt also meets Oeko-Tex Standard 100, so you can rest assured it is one of the most eco-friendly dress shirts out there, free of chemicals that can be harmful to you or the cutters and sewers who crafted it. Box pleats in back.
100% pima cotton. Machine wash.
Made fairly in Chorrillos, Peru.

Nearby Lima, Peru in the seaside town of Chorrillos, we were lucky enough to find a fair trade factory that specializes in Pima cotton wovens (most pima cotton is limited to knits). A small family-run factory with around 80 employees, we are excited about the impact Fair Indigo can bring here by developing our men's shirts line with them. The factory workers are like a family--sharing meals (free lunches), holidays, and children's sporting events together. Fair Indigo is purchasing each work station a brand new shock-absorbing floor mat to make the already comfortable shop even a little better.
