Reclaimed Organic Cable Sweater Scarf

Earlier this year, much to our dismay, our organic cable sweaters came in measuring too small. Typically in situations like this, we try to make lemons into lemonade, but the necks on these sweaters were too small to fit over most heads.

Rather than writing these off as a complete loss, we partnered with our friends at Green 3 Apparel in nearby Oshkosh. Jim and Sandy Martin at Green 3 love this kind of challenge. Part of their business is taking scraps and "unusable" materials and turning them into something more useful.

We think these scarves were a pretty good solution. Thank you Jim and Sandy! You inspire us to re-use anywhere we can.

Approximately 68 inches long x 8 inches wide. Sizes may vary slightly.

What makes it fair?

Sandy Martin is the founder and president of Green 3 Apparel located nearby in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Growing up on a farm and later working in the apparel industry traveling all over the world, Sandy came to know firsthand the effects of the industry on farmers, workers, communities, and the environment. Rather than continue to watch, Sandy and her husband Jim, a fellow apparel industry veteran set out on a course to create a cleaner more humane way of doing business.

Part of Green 3's mission is to create a market for recycled and reclaimed materials. They achieve this by working with Aspiro, a non-profit organization in Green Bay, Wisconsin that creates employment for cognitively disabled adults, helping them achieve their goals of economic independence.
