Fair Trade Clothing for Women

The factory that makes our seasonless sweaters is a great example of fair trade at work. Its workers earn a fair wage plus a month’s paid vacation and loan assistance, and benefits include a five-month maternity leave. Its high retention rate speaks volumes: one-third of its workers have worked here, in picturesque Montevideo, Uruguay, for a decade or more. Including Gladys who is about to retire next year when she turns 55. Carrying on the tradition, Gladys’s son now works at the factory, too.
