This garment's fabric: Pura
Pura is a smooth and dreamy soft all-cotton jersey. It's slightly lighter than our best-selling Eterna fabric, but by no means tissue-weight. The organic fabric is also washed before the clothing is cut and sewn, a rare but very beneficial step in the production process. It not only insures your clothes won't shrink, but also prevents puckering and twisting around seams that often happens in your dryer when the fabric shrinks but the threads used to sew the garment don't to the same degree.
Organic Pima Cotton: the best on earth
Why will your organic cotton clothing feel otherworldly soft right out of the bag and endure beautifully for years? Because we use the top 0.05% (not a typo) of cotton available. Softest and strongest aren't often used to describe a single fiber. Except when it's organic Peruvian Pima cotton. Ours is grown on two family farms and harvested with care by hand. Simply the best cotton you'll find anywhere on the planet.
Non-toxic dyes
All of our dyes are certified to the most stringent safety standards such as the Oeko-tex 100 standard. They're tested for literally hundreds of dangerous substances like Azo colorants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, and nickel. Our dyes meet or exceed the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead and the European Chemical Regulation (REACh).

lovely but too long!
"I desperately wanted to love this shirt, but it's just too long. The fabric is so soft and comfortable. The green color is perfect. The construction is high quality. But I really wanted a button down I could leave untucked. . . you know the way it is in most of the model pictures. I'm an average height (5'5") and the last time I checked my torso wasn't particularly short. The bottom of the shirt is fairly loose and at least 2-3 inches too long not to tuck. It just looks slovenly. I don't think I can pull off tucked shirts very well, and I'm not interested in shortening it, so I am sadly sending it back."

"I am slowly replacing all my tops with Fair Indigo products. I currently have two of these button tops (and several other tees) and really appreciate the more polished nature of this tee, with the button style. Hoping for some spring and autumn colors in future as well (chalk pink, coral, rust, mid-range blue etc). And wonderful company - they make clothes properly, including pre-washing the fabric! And the people - long term relationships in the supply and manufacturing work. Wonderful. I like all the photos, too, of the people who are making the garments. I grew up with a mother who clothed me in absolutely lovely clothes she made herself, so I am grateful to Fair Indigo and their partners and like to think of them when I put on my FI clothes. "I returned this a couple of weeks ago (12/3) using a label you provided but haven’t heard back from you. Have you not received it? My objection was that like all your XS shirts it was too long. And the color was darker and more drab that I expected."

- @Fair Indigo, how come the raisin color has been removed? It was the best color, and now I'm sad I didn't buy it when I first considered doing so.
- We rotate colors in and out over time to try to offer variety for customers who like a style but want new colors. It is likely Raisin would come back sometime in the future.
