Your new Organic High Waist Shorts will be your go-to knit shorts for lounging on the weekend but with enough refinement to wear all week long (weather permitting!). Made from organic French terry fabric that's wonderfully soft and drapes beautifully. Pairs nicely with our Relaxed Crop Tee (untucked) or our Slim Scoop Neck Tee (tucked in).
Encanta is our signature French Terry - as soft and cozy as you expect French terry to be, but structured just enough to be designed into silhouettes that demand a little shape and sleekness. Made with 97% organic Pima cotton, and 3% spandex, it'll wash and wear through years of enthusiastic use without pilling or shrinking and feel as cozy, soft, and comfortable as your favorite pajamas. Encanta is mainly used some of our pants & dresses.
Why does your organic cotton clothing feel otherworldly soft right out of the bag and endure beautifully for years? Because we use the top 0.05% (not a typo) of cotton available. Softest and strongest aren't often used to describe a single fiber. Except when it's organic Peruvian Pima cotton. Ours is grown on two family farms and harvested with care by hand. Simply the best cotton you'll find anywhere on the planet.
All of our dyes are certified to the most stringent safety standards such as the Oeko-tex 100 standard. They're tested for literally hundreds of dangerous substances like Azo colorants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, and nickel. Our dyes meet or exceed the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead and the European Chemical Regulation (REACh).
You've probably heard the expression 'less is more.' At Fair Indigo, we're inspired by the idea striving for LESS. A saner wardrobe that makes use of timeless 'forever in fashion' pieces you'll go back to time and again. That's why we build in quality - from the cotton and dyes we select to the extra processes we implement to create a garment you'll love for years. Buy better, buy less, live fully.
Often when apparel brands talk about sustainability, they are talking about making clothing that respects the environment and its limited resources - something to be applauded for sure. But at Fair Indigo, it also means sustainable lives for the world's garment workers. And a sustainable business model that prices clothing fairly, not too-good-to-be-true low (a signal the people were left out of the equation) nor artificially high to promote a future 70% off sale. It's time to move beyond fast fashion. For good.
In addition to living wage jobs, we believe the key to transforming communities from poverty to prosperity is education.
The Fair Indigo Foundation funds teachers' salaries, books, building improvements, and computer labs for children who otherwise were being left behind.

"The fabric on these is amazing. But the waist is so extremely high, while the short length are so extremely short."
"True to size (148 lbs, M). I work in education and it’s so nice to have comfy shorts with the inseam I need that are also structured and won’t sag during the day. The washed and dried well and are super soft."
"I really like the fit and style of these shorts. However, based on the garment and body measurements on the website, I originally ordered a medium. It was very large on me! I returned it and ordered the small and it fits perfectly."
"The fit is good!"
