Encanta is our signature French Terry - as soft and cozy as you expect French terry to be, but structured just enough to be designed into silhouettes that demand a little shape and sleekness. Made with 97% organic Pima cotton, and 3% spandex, it'll wash and wear through years of enthusiastic use without pilling or shrinking and feel as cozy, soft, and comfortable as your favorite pajamas. Encanta is mainly used some of our pants & dresses.
Why does your organic cotton clothing feel otherworldly soft right out of the bag and endure beautifully for years? Because we use the top 0.05% (not a typo) of cotton available. Softest and strongest aren't often used to describe a single fiber. Except when it's organic Peruvian Pima cotton. Ours is grown on two family farms and harvested with care by hand. Simply the best cotton you'll find anywhere on the planet.
All of our dyes are certified to the most stringent safety standards such as the Oeko-tex 100 standard. They're tested for literally hundreds of dangerous substances like Azo colorants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, and nickel. Our dyes meet or exceed the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead and the European Chemical Regulation (REACh).

"I have an earlier version of these pants without pockets. I assumed these pants would be like the older pairs I own, but the material is a lot thinner and unappealingly slippery; there is an uncomfortable thin band of elastic inside the wide-appearing waistband, and they look more like lounge pants. The older pants do not have the uncomfortable elastic, the material has a nice thickness, and they look dressier. I wish I had ordered more pairs when they were in stock. I appreciate that FI allowed me to return these pants. I only wish they'd consider bringing back the older style and fabric. The elastic defeats the purpose of having a wide waist band for those of us who don't want a thin, tortuous band of elastic cutting into us and it's nice to have pants that be dressed up or down."
"It's perfect for me, except that I had to shorten the inseam by at least 2 inches. Not a problem for me; I have a sewing machine, and because of my loss of height, I expected that. Love the pockets, the quality and simplicity of non-toxic cotton. Fair Trade is really the bonus on top of all this. Finally someone has come along to challenge Blue Canoe's dominance in the organic cotton clothing market."

To have pants hemmed, it’s $20 a pair at least. So I no longer purchase. My favorite pants are no more for me. 😒"
