Ingenious! Stretch without spandex

This garment's fabric: Luxe

Our signature all-cotton interlock Luxe is incredibly soft & silky. but its ingenuity is its ability to stretch without spandex. This is called mechanical stretch, achieved by the meticulously designed structure of the yarns. The fabric is washed before it's cut and sewn, an uncommon but very beneficial step. It minimizes shrinking over time (when following care instructions) and also prevents puckering and twisting around seams that often happens in your dryer when sewing threads shrink but fabric doesn't. Luxe fabric is used on many of our dresses, our all-cotton leggings, and in our most luxurious t-shirts. True investment-quality fabric!

organic pima cotton from Peru - organic clothes

Organic Pima Cotton: the best on earth

Why will your organic cotton clothing feel otherworldly soft right out of the bag and endure beautifully for years? Because we use the top 0.05% (not a typo) of cotton available. Softest and strongest aren't often used to describe a single fiber. Except when it's organic Peruvian Pima cotton. Ours is grown on two family farms and harvested with care by hand. Simply the best cotton you'll find anywhere on the planet.

Non-toxic dyes

All of our dyes are certified to the most stringent safety standards such as the Oeko-tex 100 standard. They're tested for literally hundreds of dangerous substances like Azo colorants, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, and nickel. Our dyes meet or exceed the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead and the European Chemical Regulation (REACh).

Ethically made clothing feels GREAT to wear

Often when apparel brands talk about sustainability, they are talking about making clothing that respects the environment and its limited resources - something to be applauded for sure. But at Fair Indigo, it also means sustainable lives for the world's garment workers. And a sustainable business model that prices clothing fairly, not too-good-to-be-true low (a signal the people were left out of the equation) nor artificially high to promote a future 70% off sale. It's time to move beyond fast fashion. For good.

Bonnie L. (5/5)

Extraordinary Quality

"The top is well made and a pleasure to wear. I have it in several colors."

Stunning, PERFECT long sleeve. Buy this!!

"I cannot rave enough about this long sleeve. In my opinion, this shirt is the best of Fair Indigo! I much prefer this Luxe fabric to their other fabrics. I have tried many eco-friendly brands for long sleeve shirts and nothing compares to this one in quality, fit, style, durability. It's a perfect medium thickness that lays smooth on the body with a slight spandex-free stretch. The shape, cuff, neckline, texture, all work to form an elegant simplicity. I'm 5'5, 115lbs, 34A, 26in waist, and the size XS fits perfectly. For New England temperatures, this weight is ideal under a sweater in winter and on its own in shoulder seasons. I love that these are GOTS certified. Awesome company ethics. Thank you Fair Indigo! @FairIndigo: the color choices (besides the Cognac) have been skewing cool and muted, which are great for people with cool undertones but can appear sickly on people with warm undertones. I would love a couple warm and bright color options (e. g. daffodil yellow, bright spring green, vibrant coral pink, etc)."

Luxe fabric is wonderful!

"I love the fabric and fit is great! Would love to see more colors available in more styles. The jewel neck is good and I also love the boat neck offered in a couple styles."

Sue H. (5/5)

Beautiful shirt

"I now have three of these long sleeve tees. They will be a cool-weather staple for me. The fabric is smooth and soft and a perfect weight, neither heavy nor light. The type of knit provides just the right amount of stretch without any spandex, which I dislike and try to avoid—not easy to do these days. My only complaint is that Fair Indigo doesn’t offer petite sizes. The regular length of this shirt is only slightly too long for my 5’1” height, but the sleeves need to be folded back. Otherwise, it’s perfect!"

Barbara S. (5/5)

Great cotton T’s!

"Nice substantial cotton shirt. These always wash well and hold up without pilling or stretching out. Some what form fitting, so choose the upper range of your usual size"

Patricia W. (5/5)

lovely fabric

"Smooth cotton fabric, very nice mid-weight quality & beautiful color. Sleeves a bit tight and long for me."

Meredith M. (5/5)

Excellent Quality

"Everything about this tee is great and it’s excellent quality. The fabric is soft and feels very nice, I didn’t notice any shrinkage after washing and it kept its shape perfectly, and it’s organic and made well. This will be my go-to for all my shirts now."

Kendra A. (5/5)

"I love this color thank you."

Q&A

I was wondering when the jewel neckline long sleeves would be restocked. Also, will there be a jewel neckline 3/4 sleeve soon?
We should have these by early October. No plans for ¾' sleeve at this time in a jewel neck but passing along the suggestion.
